small apartment renovation

This project is a renovation of a small 18th-century upper east side apartment in Manhattan. By removing existing partitions  and drop ceiling, and reorganizing circulation, the design creates a more generous and well light living space.  The second bedroom is reconfigure to also function as an office while preserving privacy and increasing available storage space.   The entry is reoriented to create a small foyer and large bookcase wraps an entire corner of the living room.

Simple materials and natural finishes are used throughout.
