Please join us on Nov 9th from 12-6pm at the Brooklyn + Fashion Design Accelerator for New Local/Manufacturing, an event that Benjamin Cadena has co-organized with Miriam Peterson of P.R.O, to explore the future of manufacturing in cities and what new typologies can allow making to mix, hybridize, and co-exist as an integral part of neighborhoods.
New Local/Manufacturing is one in a three-part series of half-day workshops and talks titled New Local: Finding Ground within Global Uncertainty, sponsored by AIANY's New Practices Committee in collaboration with Arup, A/D/O, MINI Living, and Pratt Institute. Examining locality and its conditions, the events bring together designers, engineers, policy makers, community leaders, entrepreneurs, developers, housing advocates, and engaged citizens to exchange and generate ideas to shape the future of making in New York City.
The installation "Over The Line" has been completed and will be on view for two years at the Art OMI in upstate New York as part of series of interventions taking on the fundamental elements of architecture.
