Four Skylight Building

A small building designed to feel large. An exposed concrete frame and four skylights define a room filled with light that opens broadly onto the street. A small number of elements determine structure, light, and spatial order for a flagship store
in Bogotá.

Light becomes the primary material shaping atmosphere. Four tall skylights draw daylight deep into the space and distribute it evenly across the room, allowing changes in weather and time to register throughout the day. The concrete frame sets the building’s character and projects clear and legible urban form. The project is a counterpoint to the inward-facing, artificially lit retail box.

Inside, the bush-hammered concrete frame remains exposed and surfaces are kept largely bare. Columns are arranged at progressively smaller intervals to create a forced perspective that extends perceived depth. Functional components sit as independent objects so circulation, display, and occupation can reorganize over time.
